Engine Identity

The MAN D2676 LOH 37 is a 12.42-litre inline 6-cylinder vertical diesel engine designed for heavy-duty bus and coach applications. It delivers 368 kW (500 PS) at 1800 rpm with a maximum torque of 2500 Nm across a wide plateau from 930 to 1350 rpm, providing excellent drivability for intercity and touring coaches.

EVB EXHAUST VALVE BRAKE

PRINCIPLE

Exhaust Valve Brake

The EVB opens the exhaust valves slightly during the compression stroke, converting the engine into a compression brake. This provides significant retarding force for downhill driving without using service brakes.

ADJUSTMENT

EVB Clearance: 0.60 mm

Counter-holder lock nut: M14×1-8.8, torque 45 Nm. Adjust with engine below 50°C. Use feeler gauge 08.75310-3309. Check after every valve clearance adjustment.
